Insurance Products
The AAHA Business Insurance Program offers a wide variety of business insurance coverages to veterinarians.
Practice Owner Package
Your practice is far more than your job...it's your life's work. No one understands this better than your fellow veterinarians. That's why the AAHA Business Insurance Program is best able to help you protect the practice you've worked so hard to build. Why trust your practice to anyone else?
Workers’ Compensation
Your employees are the strength of your business. You’ll spend a great deal of time hiring and training them. Secure workers’ compensation coverage from an insurer that will treat your employees fairly and get them back to work as soon as they’re able.
Employment Practices Liability
Would you practice veterinary medicine without malpractice or fire insurance? If you answered no—you should secure employment practices liability (EPL) insurance immediately because it is just as important to a practice owner. EPL coverage responds to allegations of wrongful termination, discrimination or sexual harassment.
Emergency Clinics
If you are a shareholder of an emergency clinic, you may have exposures that arise from business decisions made on behalf of your organization that are not covered by professional liability insurance. To cover this gap, the AAHA Business Insurance Program offers Directors and Officers Liability to protect board members from suits brought against them for their actions.
Mobile Practice Coverage
Mobile practices face similar exposures as fixed location practitioners and essentially require the same products. In addition to professional liability, a mobile practitioner should secure a practice owner’s package, commercial auto, workers' compensation and employment practices liability. Each product protects an ambulatory practitioner.
Flood
A key element in a veterinarian’s insurance portfolio is flood insurance. No matter where you live, everyone lives in a flood zone—you either live in a low, moderate, or high risk area. Flood insurance compensates you for all covered losses, coverage is relatively inexpensive, and covered losses are paid in full. Some of the things a standard flood policy will cover include: structural damage; furnace; water heater and air conditioner; flood debris clean up; and floor surfaces such as carpeting and tile. Flood insurance is designed to provide an alternative to disaster assistance to reduce the escalating costs of repairing damage to buildings and their contents caused by floods.
